Closed Loop Stepper Drives Modbus RTU are designed for precise motion control in industrial automation. Utilizing an RS485 interface, these drives conform to the Modbus RTU protocol, enabling configuration via commands and variables. They allow networking of up to 31 axes, supporting multi-axis systems and offering advanced positioning features through a 16-segment position table (PR Mode).

Key technical strengths include support for 2-phase stepper motors with incremental encoders (1000 ppr to 5000 ppr), selectable baud rates from 9600 to 57600 bps, and reliable prevention of step loss often encountered in open loop systems. Model CS2RS-D1008 operates with NEMA 34 motors (18–80 VAC or 30–110 VDC, up to 8.0 A peak), while CS2RS-D503 and CS2RS-D507 support NEMA 8, 11, 14, 17, 23, and 24 motors (20–50 VDC, up to 3.0 A or 7.0 A peak). Each drive features 7 inputs and 3 outputs for flexible control integration.

Typical use cases include point-to-point positioning, profile velocity, and homing operations in systems requiring enhanced reliability and reduced controller count. Drives can be configured for teaching mode and are suitable for applications needing stable, closed loop feedback with standard logic voltage (12–24 VDC). For correct RS485 network termination, a 120Ω resistor is required at chain endpoints, except for ELD2-RS models with a built-in resistor switch.
